Pastor Heather accepted a call to ministry when she was in high school. She attended Texas Christian University (TCU) where she recieved a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and then went on to Brite Divinity School at TCU where she recieved her Master's of Divinity (M.Div.). She was ordained by the Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at First Christian Church of Rowlett, TX on October 5, 2014. She has served as an Associate Minister in three Disciples of Christ congregations, focusing mostly on youth and children’s ministries while being a part of the ministries of the entire church. Heather enjoys creating dynamic worship services, exploring the questions of faith, and any opportunity she can get to a church camp! Heather loves dreaming ministry outside the box and is excited to see where God is taking the Church into the future! Originally from Texas, she is excited to be enjoying small-town Iowa life with her family!
She and her husband Casey began dating in 2006 and married in 2012; they have a beautiful and spunky daughter. As a family, we love exploring outside places, doing crafts, and watching movies. Casey and Heather enjoy playing board and card games. Heather is an avid knitter and enjoys a good TV show and has rediscovered a love for reading books.
Chris is the friendly voice you hear when you call the church office. She has been our Administrative Assistant for the past 8+ years and is very knowledgeable about our church life.
When she is not at the church, she can be found supporting one of her 3 children or headed to their lake house with her husband and family.
